Hold in place keeps an OSHA or SCORM training player from idling out while you watch. It does not click Next or Continue, answer a quiz or attention check, skip seat time, or certify the course.
Reload is the wrong tool here: a full page refresh drops your place and video position in ClickSafety, CareerSafe, 360training, HSI and the same shape of SCORM shell. Hold never navigates. A pulse moves the pointer, focuses the page, may click a non-control surface, and keeps a video that was already playing.

Hold — OSHA 10/30 players and SCORM shells where a reload destroys progress.
Reload — ordinary idle logins (email, admin consoles, dashboards) where a fresh request resets an inactivity clock and you can afford to lose the tab’s in-page state.
