Auto-refresh extensions vs Hold for SCORM

Most keep-alive tools reload a tab or ping it. That is fine for an ordinary idle login. It is the wrong move for an OSHA 10/30 player: a reload drops place and video. keepalive.page adds Hold in place — and refuses auto-click that would advance a course.

ApproachWhat it doesOSHA / SCORMkeepalive
Timed reload Full navigation on an interval; resets idle cookies. Usually destroys place and video. Yes — “Reload the tab”
AJAX / background ping
e.g. Session Alive
Quiet request or iframe refresh without a visible reload. May keep a login; still not a training “hold,” and may miss player-side idle. Not the main story; we document limits instead
Hold in place No navigation; pointer/focus/non-control pulse + video heartbeat. Keeps the player from idling while you watch. Yes — named strategy with honest limits
Auto-click / keyword alerts
e.g. Easy Auto Refresh Pro features
Scheduled clicks, keyword watches, richer automation. Can advance Next/Continue or interact with prompts — the ethics line we refuse for courses. Refused for course advancement

vs Session Alive

Session Alive is a free Chrome extension aimed at keeping sessions warm (AJAX ping and optional reload). Closest naming neighbour. It does not ship an OSHA/SCORM “Hold” story with documented refusals to click Next or answer quizzes. keepalive.page is install-free on the web for tabs it opens, plus an extension/helper for tabs you already have open, and it says plainly what Hold will not do.

vs Easy Auto Refresh

Easy Auto Refresh is a mature reload tool (free + paid) with a large install base and optional auto-click / keyword features. We do not try to out-feature it on auto-click. Differentiation: install-free dream mode, a documented whitelist/blacklist, and Hold that will not advance SCORM.
